When happy place is getting closer

After having to postpone my volunteer work twice due to a certain virus, I can finally look forward to another trip to South Africa to work for Wildlife ACT.
This time around I’ll be monitoring the endangered species in Maynoni Private Game Reserve.

The last two years you have all been fantastic by helping me to fundraise in order to raise some money to help Wildlife ACT during these hard times. And I can’t thank you enough.

The total amount so far is €3.456 (I kid you not). For those of you who would like to know more about that do check out my fundraising page . Donations are still very welcome!

I have asked the lovely people at Manyoni what kind of things we could bring. I jump from I to we as I’ll be joined by 2 other Wildlife-Act volunteer veterans so to speak. Our two-weekly zoom calls kept us all going through these tough times and finally being able to go back will be an experience not to missed. It will be even more special. So Sanne & Tim, countdown sure has begun!

The three of us will now try to get some items that are needed in camp. If you or anyone that you know are able to contribute OR even has them laying around do get back to us. Some things we’ll bring from our home countries The Netherlands and Belgium but others may have to be purchased when we are in Durban due to luggage restrictions.

So, can you help us out with any of these:

AA rechargeable energizer batteries

A FETK25 RED flashlight

SD cards (2GB): since most of us use cards with a higher volume there’s a big chance you have these small ones laying around in one of your drawers 🙂

Surgical gloves (different sizes)

A mouse for the laptop

Solar fairy lights for the braai area

New cooking pots and pans (especially nonstick).

Hammocks for the garden

Games/activity things: dartboard, volleyball/badminton, board and card games.

…..

Do get in touch if you would like to donate or contribute towards buying some of these items. As the weeks progress I hope to add which items have been bought or donated.
